Inspiration | Styled Shoot at Vista View Events

Gosh, the greatest gift besides getting to share in our couple’s journey while they are planning their wedding, is getting to work and collaborate with some of the most talented creatives in the industry. Happen-stance had it, that I stumbled upon the most perfect wedding venue with a client in crisis and in need of a brand new venue 1 month before her wedding day. I couldn’t have been more impressed with Kinsey and Katie’s venue space, not to mention their wonderful, smiling faces. It was a dream to work at their venue. Of course I knew then that I must put together a team to really showcase the unique and jaw dropping beauty at Vista View Events at Open Heart Ranch, just outside of Rifle. It’s unlike anything, in the best way possible!

When dreaming up this styled shoot, I wanted to use the space differently, more boldly and more colorfully. We mixed metals, played with textures and had a kick ass couple (you might recognize Megan in here!) to really bring it all together. Enjoy!

Before we get into the pictures, check out this amazing video from Basecamp Visual documenting the day.

We wanted to have elements of acrylic throughout the shoot and Amy Zhang Creative really killed it, these invites were so on point.

One major component to the shoot was to use bright, vibrant colors. Not that greenery isn’t lovely, but I’ve been waiting for the pendulum to swing back toward color palates actually consisting of color. Berry tones were the focus of our palate.

And because my personal favorite combination is pretzels and beer, why not have that for cocktail hour. Plus, I couldn’t resist these beer bottle openers “Save Water” and “Drink Beer”. P-E-R-F-E-C-T if we do say so.

These freshly made Bavarian pretzels were as good as they looked. We fashioned a copper stand to hold the pretzels out on display. Again Amy used an acrylic box to display our dipping sauces for the pretzels and beer selections from Breckenridge Brewery.

Our table was neatly draped with  BBJ’s Celestial “Orbit” linen, which we loved. Created texture and interest, but remained our neutral to make those incredible flowers pop. We also love the idea of showcasing higher floral centerpieces, especially in this beautiful barn.

How amazing are these menus? We made the menus dual purpose, to serve as a menu, yes, but to also serve as the seat identifiers. Brilliant! Amy also cut out these custom drink stirrers to add another personalized detail on our table top.

Then this cake, neatly sitting on top of an acrylic cake stand filled with fresh flowers….. One of my favorite designs, ever.

The cake was yummy of course. Katy with Katy Pierson Cake is a genius.

And because we believe love is an adventure, why not fly a kite? Fun little element to include. Cole was actually amazing at flying the kite, I was not. Good thing I was’t being photographed.

Let me tell you about this blanket. It is locally made in Vail and incredibly soft. The setting called for a cuddly evening shot, and we loved being able to feature the amazing Hygge blanket.

The sunset was to die for.
